Aptha Rakshaka, the sequel of Apthamitra (which was remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi with superstar Rajinikanth in the lead), is directed by P. Vasu. Tamil remake Of Aptha Rakshaka is planned by Superstar Rajinikanth and he will reprise the role of late Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan in Aptha Rakshaka. The Director P. Vasu has reportedly even made sketches of Rajinikanth as Vettaiyan and Sameera Reddy as Chandramukhi and he has already approached Sameera for her dates.

Rumours started after Superstar Rajinikanth along with producer Ramkumar and Prabhu watched the preview of Aptha Rakshaka in Chennai. Director P. Vasu has already confirmed that he is planning to remake Aptha Rakshaka in Tamil and the Superstar will be his first choice for the lead role.
