With much expectation me and my friend bala, vatsen, vijay anand went to theatre in morning 8 am show. After seeing this movie we got full satisfaction after a long time we had good Tamil movie with Hollywood effects.
Asal Ajith plays a dual role with one character dealing with international smuggling and the second role is to investigator. A new brand image will be given to this Boss who always break the box office through his movie collections.
Asal is going to be the blockbuster movie for Ultimate star Ajith in 2010 after the winning streak of Billa in which the handsome hero of Tamil Cinema. Certainly this movie would make the Tamil cinema proud

Ajith again selected a good movie and a good director overall a good action pack film with billa class– a movie must see it, i don’t know why vijay fans are showing much interested in ajith movie.
Definitely there is much expectation from ajith and he satisfy it , i feels very happy for ajith fans, who are ready to give their life to him

I am not a vijay fan neither ajith fan…..i saw the movie in the theater, about this movie i would recommend to see this film more than once…this movie will be as hit as billa but it has something new which the audience can see and experience…

I love to watch both vijay and ajith movies. Asal is a average one , The Story is not good , oddly impressing, Huge disappointment for all Ajith fans. Saran+Ajith combination always be a big hits like amarakalam, kadhal mannan and attagasam. This time unfortunately not a Hit.Songs are below average. Its an another Billa Remake.

a biggest fan of Kamal sir. but after watching the ASAL ……….
watched the very first show. up to now watched 3 times. and here after wanna be a THALA fan. extra ordinary perfomance by THALA. then no punch dialgs…. no long actions… no sxx at all. a nice movie which is gonna be a mega hit of this year… and obviously gonna give the BEST ACTER AWARD OF 2010 for our THALA

How many times we see same kind of stylish movies like billa ? most of them here says it is stylish and look like hollywood movie. is this enough to make a movie hit ? even hardcore ajith fans dont like this movie. iam not fan to any particular actor. I like Ajith, But he too giving same kind of movies.same kind of acting expression, This movie is not worth to watch,especially weak story, poor comedy and songs too not impressing. Saran wasted a bunch of actors like prabhu, bhavana and sameera reddy.

I rlly agree with Vignesh, that this time it is not a big hit and songs are below average that’s sooooo true! If ur a kind of person that looks for a story in movies…. then plz don’t see asal. Someone comments comparing vettaikaran & asal, but all I have to say is that our thalapathy never gives a bad impact to the audience just like ur thalai. Just as Sirpi said, ajith could become a great entertainer of the year. It’s sometimes nice to hear these kinds of comments from ajith fans! But he won’t be the best Actor/hero or even the next super star….!

Hollywood style? WTF? It was such a stupid movie. It was like wave after wave of stupidity. The Nigerian guy, though sitting on a godown of guns, competed for assembling his gun. In the last scene, though they were a arms manufacturing company, they had only one gun with them. I mean it’s height of absurdity. Even VEttaikaran was bad but still better than this. Tamil movies suck.

He says Asal has overtaken Billa in opening!

Asal grossed Rs.37 crores in the first week itself and additional Rs.23 crores in the second week! So, total box office collections in the first 2 weeks is Rs.60 crores. (Varalaru’s total collection was Rs.55 crores, Billa’s total collection was Rs.66 crores) Asal has already reached Varalaru and Billa’s tally in two weeks!
Drive-in screens like Prarthana and multiplexes like Inox are houseful for 3rd week too due to this new controversy. Check online booking status.
Now distributors expect Asal to gross additional Rs.14 crores in the 3rd week now!
Total box office collections will touch eventually around Rs.90 crores!
