Sun Kudumbam Award for the year 2009

Sun Network new types of award show knowns as Sun Kudumbam Awards. Sun Network conducted a public poll to select the best actor, actress and technicians of the serials aired on Sun TV for the year 2009. This event was held at the Nandambakkam Trade Centre. Numerous Celebrities were present at this function included Sneha, Gautham Menon, Mano Bala among others. A cultural event was also organized in which Ragava Lawrence, Megna Naidu, Sindu and others participated.

The Sun Kudumbam Awards started by giving Special awards were given to Radhika Sarath Kumar and Ramya Krishnan.

The best director awards were given to three directors Mettioli Thirumurugan, Kolangal Thiruselvam and Thirumathi Selvam Kumaran.

Thiruselvam also bagged the best screenplay writer award for Kolangal.
